R18 Cruiser: Inspiration!

My other projects, and various travels, have kept me away from this project. Last time I posted on the R18, I was looking at ways to shorten the rear as well as musing over possible paint schemes.

After a lot of deliberation I decided that I was not keen to start cutting up the back-end of this beautiful bike. I also realised that with the rear number-plate holder and indicators removed, the back looked a whole lot better already. So, for now I will re-locate the number plate and mount the bullet-style indicator/rear light combinations and live with this bike a little longer, seeking inspiriation.

If I make changes, then I am seriously considering appointing BMW Motorrad Pinetown to do me something similar to their winning bike shown below.

The attention to detail makes this a masterpiece - no wonder they won the Custom R18 competition held by BMW Motorrad. However, that's a big job so Steve (the boss at BMW Motorrad Pinetown) and I are exchanging ideas. In the meantime feast your eyes on these details!
