I already have a lightly modified R18, which I have shown in my other Posts (Cruiser). However, inspired by some really creative custom builds done by BMW Motorrad and their Retailers, I have decided that its time to do a more radical heritage version. This will be along the lines of the "Bobber" heritage look and combines ideas which come from many great builds I've admired so far. Of course it will also have some unique touches and the final combined look will be different than any of the others that inspired me.
So, the starting point is this absolutely standard "First Edition" R18, with just 2500 km on the clock.

The first step has been to strip it down of all the parts that I don't need, want to replace or modify. I enjoy doing this kind of work myself, however, I'm quite busy right now and with some parts my talent also ran out. So I commissioned the help of a qualified BMW Motorrad Retailer to help with the last steps. Below you see it at the lowest level - from now on it just gets better!

Of course I will be returning to my trusted craftsmen and all parts will be sourced locally - the keen eye will recognise the trial installation of new sleek rear light / indicator combinations at the rear (from MAX-INC). I think it will be an awesome build. Watch this space!
