Café Racer 1: Option 719 Storm Grey

The Option 719 “bolt on accessories” provide an OEM-designed and manufactured opportunity to add a touch of individuality and precision-machined appearance with the knowledge that these parts are designed and tested with the necessary safety in mind (which is relevant for brake levers and foot-pegs). To suit the look I wanted, I opted for "Storm Grey" and went the “whole hog” here - ordering the cylinder head covers, brake and clutch levers and expansion tank covers, foot-pegs and seat brackets.

As you can see from the photos, these parts add a beautiful hand-crafted technical look to the bike. They are costly, but really finish-off the look as I wanted it. I must admit, I used a dealer (the BMW Motorrad Dealer in Fourways) to fit these, as I wanted to ensure that I did not make any mistakes with safety-critical parts.
