Same-Same but Different

Building Maverick (see the previous posts) was so much fun and I liked some of the other work I saw at Stoos Customs (based in Cape Town), so I decided to do another.
Again I went for the Bobber format with side pipes from Gert at Dominator Performance. This time though, in a classic ”cruiser” colour and theme – a kind of burnt orange with flames. I asked the artist (Stephen Mohacsy - S M Art, also in Cape Town) to do “ghost flames” instead of maybe the typical “in your face” flames of some cruisers.
Steve also suggested to do a modern stylised logo instead of leaving the standard logo on the bike. Sticking with the de-chrome look, as much of the chrome as possible was blacked out with a satin finish ceramic coating. I also had the front fork covers sprayed satin black to match and the badges on the side covers done in "black chrome".
Stoos Customs did the same rear mudguard as on Maverick. This they combined with their integrated rear light / indicator solution on the swingarm (look closely!). They also fitted a sleek rear light / number plate light combo. Finally, I had a slightly flatter set of handlebars made and Stoos combined these with bar-end indicators and mirrors.
I really like this look and since I now had two similar bikes I decided to sell one. So Maverick has been sold. The new owner has already posted it on YouTube, take a look (https://youtu.be/T9ZnMHOcgf0?si=v5Gzn17t8GTW6qDD).
But I still haven’t had enough of the awesome R18, so the next project is already on the go, in fact its almost finished. More to follow!
