This is my third RnineT Racer. With the last two, I was inspired by racing themes of bygone eras, with the Gulf and JPS inspired livery. This time I was after a design theme that looks back to BMW Racing heritage. My inspiration came from the Touring Car scene, where a combination of the M Colours and the famous chequered flag dressed many a successful racing car.

Miniature "Bullet" indicators and bar-end mirrors from Rizoma tidied up the look of the front-end.

For the seat we went to my usual guy in the City of Tswane . We incorporated the M Colours in the leather and stitched the "nineT" into the tailpiece padding.

The exhaust was once again done by Gert at Dominator Exhausts. I asked for a slightly larger cannister, to create a deeper sound. For the look we went for hand finished stainless steel, with a classic turned down lip on the end, much like I recall from the older Ducati bikes.

Gert wanted to keep the exhausts close together and I wanted the number plate where it belongs on a Cafe Racer - in the middle - so Gert came up with a solution to put the light and number plate below the pipes, anchored though a custom bracket hung directly off the exhaust canisters.

The rear-end was shortened with an AC Schnitzer shortening kit and combined with an AC Schnitzer rear light and Rizoma "Bullet" indicators.

As usual this build was a "team job", with all suppliers bringing their part to both the idea and the execution. Thanks to Deon and JP for their ideas and all the logistics.
